Today's blog is highlighting Week 2 of National Food Safety Month: it's all about managers and their role in actively controlling risks and monitoring food safety practices. One of the best ways managers can help keep their facilities safe is through education about foodborne illness -- for example, taking the ServSafe® Food Protection Manager class. And even after the class has been taken, the education doesn't stop! Repetition of good practices, positive reinforcement, corrective action, and staying up to date on scientific changes are all critical steps to stopping foodborne illness.
The NFSM Week 2 Blog has a large focus on health inspections; how to be prepared, as well as guides and tools for self-inspections. Don't be caught off guard! Self-inspections are a great way to instill those good practices with the whole team. Make sure to take advantage of all these resources to keep yourselves at the top of your game, and your customers safe.
Stay tuned for more about National Food Safety Month, and as always: Keep It Safe!
